About Me

Hello! I'm Michelle and I'm a speech-language pathologist. I love saying that because it has been my dream job since high school. After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor's in French and Linguistics, I took a detour and worked in tech for 10 years. The stability was nice but my heart just wasn't in it. Thanks to my husband's encouragement and support, I went to and graduated from SJSU with my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

My dad is my inspiration for this career and was one of my favorite people in the whole world. After a stroke at a young age, he lived the rest of his life with aphasia. I saw the impact it had on him and our family and how important it was to educate the community on how to better support his communicative needs.

I'm a passionate advocate for those with communicative differences and disorders and work with individuals and their families to learn about what we can't change and to fight like crazy for what we can.

My father's initials were CSL and I'm proud to name my private practice in his honor. I love you, appa.

My expertise is in
  • early intervention (0-3, regional centers)

  • speech sound disorders (dreaded /r/, lisps, fronting)

  • selective mutism (preschool to young adult)

  • aphasia (from Broca's to PPA)

  • physiological differences (dysphonia, dysphagia)

  • and neurodivergent-affirming social communication strategies.

My approach consistently focuses on functional communication (no word drills and naming here, sorry) and caregiver/family education.
